The Kerala PWD is partnering with HubSpire to make our roads safer, and the solution is so simple. If you see a pothole, snap it, tag it and get it fixed.
The new Fixit App is a free download for iOS devices and is designed to improve communication, accountability and response time with the PWD. Anyone with a smartphone can take a picture of a pothole and upload it to the PWD Fixit App. All complaints will be geotagged and automatically sent to the PWD complaint management system. From there, a PWD engineer will be assigned to the project and will be able to provide status updates until complaint resolution.
While the immediate goal of the PWD Fixit App is to fill our potholes, the implications of such an app are far reaching. Faulty traffic lights, fallen debris, clogged drainage...these are just a few of the potential future use cases where the Fixit app can help clean up our roads and make them safe for travel.
And while significant, roads are but a portion of our city’s infrastructure. The PWD Fixit App has the potential to improve communication and issue resolution across all Public Works projects. We’re excited to announce Kerala’s new PWD Fixit App.
